My name is Gary Baldassari, I am a musician, recording engineer and producer who has tracked, mixed and mastered live sound,stage sound, studio sound, video broadcast and screen sound for more than 30 years.
In the year 1979 I worked for Walt Disney productions pioneering and formulating the basis for the finest sound possible. In my engineering capacity then and now, I have had intimate, hands on experience with every significant microphone that has ever been made.
My work at Disney in those days was to investigate all aspects of sound from a purist perspective and with a no holds barred attitude.
My forte at present is live acoustic jazz. In the jazz field I have over 55 RIAA releases credited. In addition I have mixed live speech for 5 presidents of the united states and mixed and directed sound for 18 super bowls in addition to several hundred additional jobs of all sorts.
Present day microphones are at best, somewhat better versions of what has been available for the past decades but unfortunately the same problems in recording still exist.
Enter Joe Grado's new blockbuster microphone system which can only be described as a magnificent piece of work both in technical performance and manufactured quality.
Below are just a quick view of my observations after using Joe's masterpiece for several months and in many varied and sometimes very difficult assignments. The result of course was a total success every time.

Every time I use Joe's new Holographic Scalera Scanner I discover a new and unexpected way
to use them which always results in an even better recording than the last one.
Now recording jobs seem to be more fun than work. It seems that the microphone cures a lot of recording problems all by itself.
This is truly a very special microphone.
