The Signature Holographic Scalera Scanner consists of two microphones so perfectly matched symetrically and in every other parameter that they absolutely act as one unit.this is extremely important during recording for it is the key to the holographic effect.
Like Joe Grado’s HP-1000 series headphones the Joe Grado microphones are exquisitely machined like the finest swiss clock. One holographic system (two mikes) will collect more information than a 100 mic setup and with infinitely better sound. Setup time for one signature system is a one man job and generally takes about twenty minutes versus a van loaded with a couple of tons of equipment, with five or six men and a days work to set up. The direct cost for a full symphonic recording can cost well upwards from fifty thousand dollars.

Post processing for the 100 mic setup is absolutely necessary to try to cleanup the wicked and individually different resonant mic colorations. unfortunately this is never quite totally successful.
There are no two mics of the same model, made by the same manufacturer, on the same production line, assembled by the same people, using the same parts and specially calibrated together, that will sound exactly the same. That is a fact !!
Prove it to yourself. Take two mics connected for recording and while listening on earphones tap the two mics with a pencil and you will hear two distinctly different sounds. These are colorations that will be added to anything you record.
The signature mics have no colorations, hence this problem does not exist.!!
